So I have heard REPEATEDLY that us black people have a lot more elasticity (sp?) in our skin. I really hope so! Being 23 and being black can be a major benefit when it comes to the excess skin! I'm just wondering if anybody else has heard that, and if its true at all? Do you have lots of extra skin? Thanks!!!!

I resent that comment....

I was in class yesterday...teacher asked old boy what his favorite food was...he said "all types of chicken" --- I was floored

Actually, I agree with Mack Momma (or whatever the heyll it is she's going by these days).  She's been at this longer than I have and frankly she might kick my azz if I don't give her the necessary props.

If 'they' told you where all that un needed skin goes, I've got some to forward.
I'm not laughing at you luv, just the things that I hear over and over.

Good genes will improve your chances but I was about 285lbs in 2000 and I'll be 131lbs in 2010.  That's enough skin left over to cover a person that weighs what I weigh today.  It will not just dissapear.  Don't stress too much.  Its not always ugly.

I don't plan on plastics.  Not cause I could not use some but its just not bad enough to go through all that pain.  Inner thigh is the worst, but that started with the weight I lost before deciding on surgery.  I've has big thighs all of my life.

My muscle tone distracts the eye from the flabby under arms and my midsection, breast and @$$ stay under wraps.  My belly is no worse than it was pre op but my @$$ looks like a sharpe's face and the girls have deflated.  As long as I have a bustier and some crotchless drawers who cares.
